The Seed Abundant life is not appetite with a halo. It is creaturely life restored to God, healed into wisdom, courage, justice, rest, communion, and joy. The Unfolding When Jesus promises life abundant, he is not offering sacred decoration for the life we already know how to consume. John names this life zōē, the life that comes from God and returns the creature to communion; its fullness is perisson, life beyond the bare measure. But in Christ, “ more ” is converted. It is not more acquisition, stimulation, status, control, or spiritual intensity. It is more truth than shame can silence, more mercy than accusation expected, more communion than isolation can imagine, more hope than death can authorise. The Good Shepherd gives his psychē, his life and self, so that the sheep may receive zōē. Abundance, then, is not life inflated. It is life restored: body, memory, desire, vocation, neighbour-love, justice, Sabbath, and joy gathered back into God. Listen to the Spoken Edition · 27...
